
Cortland and Oswego take home final SUNYAC baseball weekly awards of season
CORTLAND N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Colin BeVard (Syracuse, N.Y.) from Cortland and Brian Nolan (Syracuse, N.Y.) from Oswego as this weeks Athlete and Pitcher of the Week.
BeVard had a steller weekend with three inside-the-park homers as the Red Dragons swept Brockport to finish 18-0 in the SUNYAC. He finished the series batting .538 with four homers, a triple, two steals, seven RBI, seven runs and an amazing 1.615 slugging percentage. Two of his three inside-the-park homers came in the same inning, a nine-run third frame on the way to an 11-4 win in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader.
Nolan helped the Lakers to sweep the Fredonia Blue Devils over the weekend, recording the win in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. The senior appeared on the mound for five innings, throwing eight strikeouts and only allowing one walk and one hit for an ERA of 0.00.
