Wissemann honored as first SUNYAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week in 2019
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected New Paltz junior Tristan Wissemann (Shelter Island. N.Y./Shelter Island) as its first Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for 2019.
Wissemann led the Hawks to a tournament win at the Dr. Carol V DeCosta Go 4 the Goal Classic at Medgar Evers after victories over hosting Medgar Evers and College of New Rochelle. He scored a team-high 19 points, while shooting 8-for-13 with six rebounds, four assists and a steal in the 98-91 overtime victory. Wissemann then backed up his performance with arguably the best of his career, scoring a career-high 30 points off nearly 50 percent shooting from the floor, while also adding seven rebounds, one block and a steal in the 84-78 win.
