Women’s Lacrosse Coordinator of Officials – Request for Proposal

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is soliciting proposals for the services of a Supervisor of Women's Lacrosse Officials for the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

The purpose of this RFP is to manage the women's lacrosse officiating services for the SUNYAC. The coordinator will report directly to the SUNYAC conference commissioner. This successful candidate/organization will be an independent contractor and is not an employee of the SUNYAC.

Services

The successful candidate should be prepared to fulfill the following core services:

  1. Assignment of highest rated available officials for all preseason/exhibition games, conference contests, non-conference home games, and all post-season games
  2. Recruitment and retention of officials throughout the geographic reach of the SUNYAC
  3. Establishment and maintenance of officials' evaluation system to include, but not limited to, utilization of coaches' evaluations/reports
  4. Establishment and maintenance of officials' payment system that complies with the fiduciary practices of member institutions
  5. Training and education of officials
  6. Provide a written annual report assessing the officials' evaluation process, officials' ratings, financial summary, list of new officials added to the pool, list of officials who will be dismissed from the pool, and any disciplinary actions taken with official(s) as applicable in an anonymous format
  7. Communicate with all officials and head coaches any appropriate updates, points of emphasis, and guidance relating to NCAA and conference rules
  8. Communicate with the SUNYAC commissioner to discuss disciplinary and other actions needed to ensure quality officiating and positive game environments
  9. Serve on the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Sport Discipline Committee
  10. Participate in the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason, Annual Coaches and Pre-Championship meetings, as well as the SUNYAC Governing Body Meeting if requested

 Submission of Materials

  • Resume plus three professional references
  • Proposed fee structure and rationale, including assigning fees and game fees for the next three (3) years. 
    • Three-year strategic plan for the following: 
      • Recruiting new officials
      • On-court training of existing officials 
      • On-going educational program for potential and existing officials 
      • Scheduling/Evaluation Process / Online assigning system
      • Evaluation processes for existing officials
      • Online payment system
      • Observation Program/Plan
