Jones and Sorensen earned PrestoSports Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Cortland's Aaron Jones the PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week while teammate Dane Sorensen was named Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Jones finished first out of 47 competitors in the 200-meter dash at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup with a time of 22.10 seconds. His time is a meet and Nazareth facility record and currently ranks sixth nationally in Division III and first in both the SUNYAC and the AARTFC. In addition, Jones placed second of 20 in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.32 seconds, which meets AARTFC standards. Jones helped Cortland finish second out of 11 schools in the final team standings.

Sorensen finished first in a field of 23 competitors in the pole vault at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup. His height of 4.90 meters (16' 0.75") currently ranks fifth nationally in Division III and first in both the SUNYAC and AARTFC. Sorensen helped Cortland finish second out of 11 schools in the final team standings.
