Indianapolis, IN — The NCAA Division III Field Hockey Committee announced Monday the field of 26 teams that will compete for the 2021 DIII National Championship.
With the State University of New York at New Paltz defeating SUNY Cortland, 1-0 Saturday in the SUNYAC Championship game, the Hawks not only claimed the program's sixth conference title but also solidified an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
New Paltz (16-2 overall) will host the first round on the North Turf Field on Wednesday at 1 p.m. against Wilson College of the Colonia States Athletic Conference (CSAC). The Phoenix have yet to lose this year, heading into the matchup 18-0. The winner of the game will move on to the next round Nov. 13 against the winner of Tufts University and Johnson and Wales University.
