Mulder Voted 2022 SUNYAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Scholar Athlete of the Year

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is pleased to announce Geneseo's Madison Mulder as the 2022 Women's Indoor Track and Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. This award is nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors. During each season, the conference honors student-athletes for their efforts in their sport, as well as their academics. Out of hundreds of winter athletes, one athlete from each sport was selected for this distinction.

Mulder is a business administration major with a 3.82 overall GPA. She earned All-American honors with a national runner-up finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:47.63. She also earned All-American honors in the 400 with a third-place finish time of 56.23. At the AARTFC Meet, Mulder set a new meet record in 4x400 with a time of 3:50.60. In the SUNYAC Championships, Mulder won the 400 and was part of the winning 4x400 relay team and was second in the 200 meter. She was awarded First Team All-SUNYAC and First Team All-Region. Mulder was also recognized as the 2022 SUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Year as nominated and voted on by the conference coaches. 

In order to be eligible for the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award student-athletes must prove both academic and athletic excellence by obtaining a minimum 3.30 overall GPA, be a starter or significant reserve for their team, and be at least a sophomore. The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete Award began in 2016-17.
