Jones and Mangogna Honored as PrestoSports Men'sTrack and Field Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced Cortland's Aaron Jones as this week's PrestoSports Track Athlete of the Week for the season time this season while Oneonta's Richard Mangogna was recognized as the Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week.

Jones finished first out of 39 competitors in the 200-meter dash and was third of 22 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Winter Welcome Back to Brockport meet. His time of 22.22 seconds in the 200 meters currently is tied for seventh nationally in Division III and is first in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC), and his time of 8.38 seconds in the hurdles also meets AARTFC qualifying standards.

Mangogna was the top performer this past Friday for the men at the Continental Invitaional hosted by Hamilton College. During the meet, he reset his own school record in the pole vault clearing 4.40 meters (14'-5 ¼"), inching past his previous record of 4.36 meters. Mangogna also posted personal best times in the 200-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.
