SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) picks Geneseo's Kathleen McCarey and Brockport's Chanyce Powell as its PrestoSports Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
McCarey had a first-place finish in the 5,000 with a time of 16:53.54 at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational, the seventh-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.
Powell posted an outdoor personal best and currently ranks fifth nationally on the outdoor NCAA qualifying list after winning the triple jump at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational on Saturday with a mark of 11.80 meters. She also added an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a season opening distance of 5.09 meters.
