Lusk Elevated to Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Oneonta

Oneonta Sports Information Department

ONEONTA, N.Y. - After serving as the interim director in the 2022 spring semester, Brandi Lusk has been named the SUNY Oneonta Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, as announced by Director of Athletics Ryan Hooper. Lusk previously worked as the Interim Associate Athletics Director in spring 2022 and as the Oneonta head women's lacrosse coach from 2019 to 2022.

"It gives me great pleasure to name Brandi as our new Associate Athletic Director," stated Hooper. "She provided immense support for the department as the Interim Associate Athletic Director last year, all while still keeping her role as Women's Lacrosse Coach. Her background as a coach and her experience at the administrative level will allow her to thrive in this position."

As the Interim Associate, Lusk was part of the senior management team of the athletics department and established herself as a tireless worker in all aspects of her responsibilities. Lusk was mainly responsible for daily facility scheduling and home game management. She oversaw the training and scheduling of student workers for all home events during the spring semester. Additionally, Lusk worked closely with the IT department on campus to develop and create efficiencies for the athletics department.

In her new full-time role, Lusk will continue with her day-to-day operations in facilities and home events management while taking on the full responsibilities of her position. Specifically, she will work with sponsors, fundraising, and NCAA compliance while supervising department staff.

"Brandi is a forward thinker and constantly looking for ways for us to work more efficiently," continued Hooper. "She's a tremendous asset to our staff, and I am very excited to continue working with her."

Lusk joined Oneonta in 2018 as the 12th head coach of the Red Dragons' women's lacrosse team. During that time, she guided the Red Dragons to a 25-24 overall record, and in spring 2022, she led her squad into the semifinals of the SUNYAC tournament. In both 2019 and 2021, the Red Dragons qualified for the SUNYAC tournament. A total of 11 athletes garnered All-Conference honors, and five earned IWLCA Scholar-Athlete accolades.

Before Oneonta, Lusk served as the head coach at Hartwick, Oswego, and Herkimer County Community College.

As a student-athlete, Lusk attended HCCC, where she played lacrosse for two seasons in 2004 and 2005. She was a member of the school's inaugural women's lacrosse season and helped the Generals to a 12-1 record the following season. She was a two-time NJCAA Academic All-American, a two-time NJCAA All-Tournament Team pick, named the HCCC Female Athlete of the Year, and a SUNY Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete.

Lusk is a native of East Springfield, NY, and attended Cherry Valley-Springfield High School, where she graduated in 2002. She graduated from Herkimer with an Associate degree in Science in Physical Education. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in May 2007 from SUNY Cortland and earned her master's degree in Science and Education from SUNY Cortland in 2010.
