Geneseo Takes Home 2021 SUNYAC Women's Soccer Title

GENESEO, N.Y. - Geneseo edged out Cortland, 1-0, to win the 2021 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's soccer title, Saturday at Geneseo's College Stadium. With the win the Knights earned an automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA women's soccer tournament.

Nicole Bell was named to the All-Tournament team after she scored the lone goal to help the Knights win their ninth overall SUNYAC women's soccer championship. Hannah Sullivan dished out the assist and was honored as the Tournament MVP. Angel Bennett had three saves in goal for Geneseo to preserve the shutout.

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year's women's soccer awardee is Geneseo senior Hannah Sullivan an English and adolescent education major with a 3.95 cumulative GPA.
