Parente and Williams Earn PrestoSports Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Oswego's Grace Parente the PrestoSports Women's Swimmer of the Week and Cortland's Taylor Williams the Diver of the Week for the fifth time this season.

Parente helped lead Oswego to a 2-1 week in dual meets with seven events wins. Against Cortland, she won the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.38), 200-yard butterfly (2:22.15), 200-yard freestyle relay (1:47.42) and 200-yard medley relay (1:57.51). On Saturday against both Fredonia and Roberts Wesleyan, she was tops in the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.29), 200-yard butterfly (2:22.68) and 200-yard medley relay (1:58.34).

Williams opened the week Wednesday with wins on both the 3-meter (291.95 points) and 1-meter (263.85 points) boards in Cortland's 159-107 dual victory over visiting Oswego. Her 3-meter score was her personal best six-dive result in the event. On Saturday, Williams earned first-place points in both sections of the 1-meter diving event in a dual meet at Division II Le Moyne. She scored 185.85 points in one section and 234.35 points in the other for a combined score of 420.20 points (there is no 3-meter board at Le Moyne, so the 1-meter competition was broken into two scoring events of five and six dives).
