No. 17 Lakers Draw Hood to Open NCAA's on Friday

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 17 Oswego State Men's Basketball team kicks off their First Round action in the 2022 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament on Friday at 3:05 p.m. against Hood College from Frederick, Maryland.  The game will be played on a neutral court at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.

The Lakers come into the contest with a 25-2 record and their fifth SUNYAC Championship in the past 10 seasons.  Oswego features four All-Conference performers in sophomore Jeremiah Sparks (1st Team), junior Devin Green (2nd Team), and seniors Julien Crittendon (3rd Team) and Brendan Mulson (3rd Team).

Hood enters the contest with a 20-6 record and gained entry to the tournament by winning the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth's Championship with a 75-71 victory over Eastern University.  The Blazers feature the Commonwealth's Player of the Year in Mason Wang and was joined on the All-Conference squad by fellow senior Evan Wang.

In the night game at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, the host team Swarthmore will take on Keene State of New Hampshire.  Swarthmore enters the contest ranked No. 20 in the latest D3Hoops.com Top-25 poll.

If the Lakers advance, they would play again on Saturday at 5:35 p.m. in Second Round Action.
