2022 SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Annual Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) releases its 2022 women's outdoor track and field top awards including Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year as voted on by the conference coaches.

Women's Track Athlete of the Year - Madison Mulder, Geneseo

Mulder earned All-American status at the NCAA Division III championship finishing fifth in the 400 meter race in 54.74. She was also part of the All-American 4x400 relay team that finished second in 3:42.79. Prior to nationals Mulder was the SUNYAC champion in the 400 meter, 200 meter and 4x400 relay. Mulder earned Female Most Outstanding Performance recognition which is voted on by the coaches at the conference championship. Her 53.81 anchor split in the 4x400 relay is the sixth fastest in Division III history and she ranks 22nd all-time in the 400 meter.

Women's Field Athlete of the Year - Sarah Crockett, Brockport

Crockett was the 2022 SUNYAC champion in the shot put and the discus and she also finished second in the hammer throw. She earned the most points (28) at the conference championship and was named the Female Most Valuable Performer. Crockett was ranked 24th in Division III in the shot put as well as 42nd in the hammer throw and 120th in the discus.

Women's Rookie of the Year - Kaitlyn Grossman, Geneseo

At the 2022 SUNYAC championship meet, Grossman finished second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 11:15.15. She was ranked 39th in Division III in the steeplechase and she was also ranked in the conference in the 1,500 meter (4:44.86) and 5,000 meter (17:41.18).

Women's Coaching Staff of the Year - Geneseo

The Knights coaching staff is led by head coach, Chris Popovici and is assisted by Dan MooreCamille Wutz, Christian Johnson and Ashton Fischer. Geneseo took home its fifth-straight and 14th overall SUNYAC women's outdoor track and field title in 2022. The team had 18 top five finishes at the SUNYAC championship meet. The staff coached the Knights to four All-American finishes at the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championship meet.
