Frodyma and Suriani Named PrestoSports Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Plattsburgh's Emily Frodyma the PrestoSports Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week and Fredonia's Sabrina Suriani the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Frodyma tallied two goals and two assists for six points to help Plattsburgh women's soccer to a 1-0-2 record on the week. Frodyma began the week by recording two assist in Plattsburgh's season-opening 2-2 double-overtime tie with Castleton University on Wednesday, Sept. 1. Frodyma then scored her first goal of the season in the Cardinals' 1-1 double-overtime tie at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday, Sept. 4. She concluded the week by scoring the second goal of the day in a 2-0 win at Russell Sage College on Sunday, Sept. 5.

In three games this past week, Suriani helped the Devils to a 2-0-1 mark that included a pair of shutouts. She made eight saves in a 1-0 win over Wooster and three saves in another 1-0 victory vs. Baldwin Wallace -- both coming in the Penn State Behrend Tournament. Earlier in the week, she made 11 saves in a 2-2 tie against Alfred University.
