Grunder recognized as PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) recognizes Cortland's Austin Grunder as the PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Grunder averaged 22.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in a 3-0 week for the Red Dragons. In a 95-61 win over Plattsburgh Friday, Grunder registered a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. It's only the third triple-double by a SUNYAC player in the last 11 seasons. Grunder opened the week Tuesday with 31 points, nine rebounds and three assists in an 89-66 win vs. Fredonia, and he closed the week Saturday with 19 points, 14 rebounds and three assists in an 83-56 win over Potsdam. Grunder shot 59 percent from the floor during the week, including 44 percent (7-of-16) from 3-point range, and he was 12-of-13 from the foul line.
