SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Anna Flaitz of Geneseo and Sarah Crockett of Brockport as the PrestoSports Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Senior Flaitz posted a pair of top times on Saturday at the Conference Challenge Cup hosted by Nazareth. In the 400, Flaitz placed third, but her finishing time of 57.95 ranked sixth in NCAA Division III. In the 4x400, Flaitz and her teammates finished in 3:56.91 to win the event, posting the fifth-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.
Brockport junior Crockett earns her third SUNYAC Prestosports Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award following another dominating performance this weekend at the Utica Blue & Orange Invitational. competing against Division I and II Schools such as UMASS Amherst, LeMoyne & Saint Rose amongst 10 other Division III Schools, Crockett earned her way to a first place finish in both the women's shot put and weight throw. For the weight throw, Crockett won the event by throwing for a total distance of 15.73m while in the shot put she claimed victory following her throw of 13.03m beating out 35 other competitors.
