SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Katie Villarini from Buffalo State as this week's PrestoSports Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Villarini averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 7.0 rebounds in two contests, leading the Bengals as they split contests against Brockport and St. John Fisher over the weekend. Villarini nearly recorded a triple-double in Buffalo State's victory over Brockport, scoring 18 points, adding 10 assists, and nine rebounds. Against St. John Fisher, ranked 25th in the latest D3Hoops.com poll, Villarini scored 25 points and added five rebounds and five assists.
