Hopsicker and Elmer earn PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honors Cortland's Lauren Hopsicker and Brockport's Morgan Elmer as PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Hopsicker helped lead the 21st Red Dragons to a 20-9 home non-conference victory versus Rochester on Friday afternoon, totaling eight points on six goals and two assists with three ground balls and two draw controls. Hopsicker tallied her six goals on eight shots and recorded three goals and an assist on Cortland's first four goals of the third quarter to stretch a 10-6 lead to a commanding 14-6 advantage. For the season, she has scored 10 points on seven goals and three assists and contributed three ground balls and four draws.

Senior goalie Elmer made a career-high 22 saves, just two short of the program's single-game record, as nationally-ranked No. 12 Brockport defeated host Nazareth College 16-3 on Wednesday evening. She allowed just two goals before exiting the game in the final ten minutes as the Golden Eagles held a double digit lead. She also scooped up five ground balls for Brockport.
