SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tabs Hannah Marafioti of Geneseo and Janae Nelson of Buffalo State as PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.
Marafioti led Geneseo to a 2-0 week with wins over Oswego and Potsdam. The graduate attacker tallied 12 points over two games with four goals and three assists in a 17-6 win at Oswego and then four goals and one assist in a 22-4 win over Potsdam. She also recorded five draw controls and six ground balls.
Nelson made 29 saves in two games, both Buffalo State victories. She had a career-best effort in Buffalo State's victory over Plattsburgh, making 25 saves and grabbing 10 ground balls. The 10 ground balls broke a Buffalo State record set in 2017, and the 25 saves were one shy of the school record set in 2000.
