SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honors Brockport's Antonio Alvarez as this week PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Alvarez shot the ball well from long range all weekend, as Brockport went 2-0 this past weekend with two blowout victories. He scored a season-high 18 points in a 92-62 win over Plattsburgh, shooting 3-for-6 from downtown in just 16 minutes of action. The next day he came back with a 5-for-10 shooting effort from deep, on his way to a 16 point outing in a 94-73 win over Potsdam. Alvarez was 8-for-16 from beyond the arc during the two games, shooting the 3-ball at a 50% clip and averaging 17 points a game during two wins at home.
