Perna, Creenan and Morgan Recognized with PrestoSports Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Chris Perna (Geneseo), Ryan Creenan (Morrisville) and Peter Morgan (Geneseo) as it's Presto Sports Men's Ice Hockey Athlete, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Perna scored a pair of game-winning goals to lead the Knights to three victories, tallying a total of five points. Against Nazareth on Tuesday, Perna provided the game-winning goal in the third period as the Knights earned the 3-2 win. He added a pair of assists in Geneseo's 8-1 victory over Lebanon Valley on Friday and then tallied an assist and a the game-winning goal at Williams on Saturday. Perna has tallied two goals and 11 assists this season.

Creenan went 2-0 for the Mustangs in net on the weekend, playing all 120 minutes and collecting a total 92 saves in two contests. He began the week with his first collegiate shut out turning away all 52 shot attempts by Post University Wednesday to pick up the win, and followed with 40 more in a 5-2 win over Arcadia on Friday. In all Creenan posted a .979 save percentage and averaged 46 saves and a 1.00 goals against average per game on the week.

First-year forward Morgan tallied a team-high seven points as the Knights earned three victories this week. Morgan tallied a pair of assists in the Knights' 3-2 win over Nazareth, including a helper on the game-winning goal in the third period. Against Lebanon Valley, Morgan registered his first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, and added a pair of assists for a career-high five points as the Knights rolled to a 8-1 win. Morgan leads the conference with 13 goals and 27 points, and ranks second in the league with 14 assists.
