Blondo Named PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named New Paltz's Rylan Blondo as it's Presto Sports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week

Blondo led the Hawks to a weekend sweep over Buffalo State and Fredonia Thursday and Friday. He finished with his third double-double of the season after pulling down a career-high 14 rebounds to go along with 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting from the field and 6-for-11 from the foul line. He also recorded a team-high six assists in the, 89-75 win. The following day, New Paltz quickly got out to a large lead against the Blue Devils with the Hawks emptying their bench early. Despite Blondo only playing 21 minutes in the blowout victory, he was efficient for every second he was on the floor. He made 8-for-11 on his attempts, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range for a team-high 20 points, while also adding a team-high three steals, three rebounds and an assist.
