CORTLAND N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Geneseo teammates Mitchell Phelps (Owego, N.Y.) and Corey Wirth (Lima, N.Y.) as this weeks PrestoSports Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week.
Phelps helped the Knights to a dual meet victory over conference rival Cortland. He earned a first-place finish in the 100 fly, posting the second-fastest time in the SUNYAC this season (51.97). He added a the conference's fastest time in the 200 free, finishing first with a mark of 1:46.11. He also swam the opening leg for the Knights' first-place 200 medley relay, which finished in 1:36.64, and the 400 free relay (3:15.26).
Wirth propelled the Knights to a victory on Friday night against Cortland with a sweep of the men's diving events. Wirth scored 303.85 in the one-meter dive and tallied 306.15 in the three-meter to take first in both events.
