CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Cortland's Beth Bonin (Cicero, N.Y.) as this week's PrestoSports Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Bonin averaged 19 points, four rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game as Cortland opened its SUNYAC schedule with a pair of road wins. On Friday she scored 21 points, including what proved to be the game-winning 3-pointer with 26.1 seconds left in overtime, along with five rebounds, four steals and three assists in the Red Dragons' 67-64 win at nationally 15th-ranked Geneseo. The next day she recorded 17 points, three rebounds and two assists in a 69-60 victory at Brockport. Bonin ranks eighth nationally in Division III with 3.8 made 3-pointers per game and ranks third in the SUNYAC in scoring (18.8 ppg).
