CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track and Field weekly awards. Cortland's Brent DiVittorio (Brewster, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Track Athlete of the Week and teammate Zach Kashmer (Chili, N.Y.) the Field Athlete of the Week.
DiVittorio finished first out of 31 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup. His time of 8.09 seconds ranks second nationally in Division III and first in the AARTFC, and is the second-fastest time in school history (he improved on his second-best school time of 8.14 seconds from December).
Kashmer finished fourth overall and was the second Division III finisher in the heptathlon at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. His score of 4,937 points is the fourth highest in school history and currently ranks fourth nationally in Division III and first in the AARTFC. His score included 823 points in the 60-meter hurdles (8.66 seconds) and 760 points in the pole vault (4.50 meters/14' 9"). Both of those are AARTFC qualifiers, with the pole vault effort currently ranked 24th nationally.
