CORTLAND, N.Y. - For the second week in a row, Natalia Krol (So, Greenvale, N.Y.) of Geneseo is this week's PrestoSports Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week. Dana Sorrentino (Pearl River, N.Y.) and Sam Montague (Glenville, N.Y.) of Geneseo are awarded this week's PrestoSports Doubles Team of the Week.
Krol posted a 5-0 mark in singles matches this week, including a pair of conference victories to lead the Knights. Against Oswego on Tuesday, Krol earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles and followed with a 6-1, 6-0 third singles victory at Cortland, Friday. Geneseo competed at the St. Lawrence Invitational where Krol went 3-0 in singles play, defeating opponents from Union and RIT. She compiled an overall 5-0 mark in singles play to improve her record to 9-1 this season.
Sorrentino and Montague teamed at first doubles for the Knights posting a 2-0 mark in dual match play against conference opponents. Sorrentino and Montague earned a 8-2 victory against Oswego to lead the Knights to a sweep, 9-0. On Friday at Cortland, the tandem took down an 8-1 win as Geneseo rolled to a 6-1 victory.
