CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track and Field weekly awards. Cortland's Brent DiVittorio (Brewster, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Track Athlete of the Week and teammate Zach Kashmer (Chili, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Field Athlete of the Week.
DiVittorio finished first out of 23 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles and was fourth of 84 in the 200-meter dash at the Utica College Blue and Orange Invitational and Multi, helping the nationally ninth-ranked Red Dragons win the team title at the 21-school event. His prelim hurdles time of 8.06 seconds set a Utica facility record, ranks first in the AARTFC and third nationally, and missed a school record by a hundredth of a second. He won the finals in 8.15 seconds. DiVittorio's 200-meter dash time was 22.80 seconds, also an AARTFC qualifier.
Kashmer finished first in the heptathlon at the Utica College Blue and Orange Invitational and Multi with a score of 4,968 points that currently ranks fourth nationally in Division III and first in the AARTFC. The score also set a Utica facility record. Kashmer won four of the heptathlon's seven events - the high jump (1.87 meters), pole vault (4.35 meters), shot put (11.50 meters) and 60-meter dash (7.27). His effort helped the nationally ninth-ranked Red Dragons win the team title at the 21-school event.
