Q&A

1-Do you have a hidden or special talent?
I would have to say a hidden talent of mine would be is that I can cross my eyes and raise my eyebrows at the same time. I'm not sure how impressive that is!

2-Do you have any pre-competition rituals?
I always make sure to warm up and stretch before my race. When I'm up behind the blocks, I do a few quick jumps, and after I look down the pool, focusing on my race and how I will execute it.

3-What's your favorite memory since competing for your institution?
Getting the pool record has definitely been my favorite memory so far this season. The support and pure happiness I felt from my teammates and coaches was indescribable. I felt so incredibly happy the moment I touched the wall and saw the scoreboard with that time.

4-If you could have one song play every time you win a race what would it be?
Getting the pool record has definitely been my favorite memory so far this season. The support and pure happiness I felt from my teammates and coaches was indescribable. I felt so incredibly happy the moment I touched the wall and saw the scoreboard with that time.

5-If you were stranded on an island, who would you want to be there with you, and why?
My mom, she always seems to figure out how to do things that seem impossible, and she always believes in me.

6-What's the best advice anyone has given you?
The best advice I got was from my club coach, Chuck Dunham, "Always remember moments like these when you finally meet your goals, whether it's hitting a certain time, or winning a race. Always remember."

7-What are some things you do to prepare for a game mentally?
I always try to eat a good meal the night before a meet, like pasta, and salad. The morning of, I eat a balanced breakfast with eggs and bacon, a smoothie, some fruit, etc. During a meet, I always stay hydrated, and eat some snacks (Belvitas, fruit snacks, Gatorade chews, etc). I focus on swimming and what I can do to swim fast.

8-Do you have a motto you live by or say to yourself on occasion?
"Hard work pays off", "The harder you work for something, the greater you will feel when you achieve it"

9-If you could pick one person in the entire world to be a spectator at all of your games who would it be and why?
Kim MacDonald. She is my roommate and teammate, and she has been the most supportive of me this year, and the past 3 years of knowing her as well.

10 - If you could choose to be any animal, what would you be and why?
I would have to say a dolphin. They always swim in pods, so they always have someone to be with, and I am a very social person. They also are very friendly, so people can approach them often, and I am also a very approachable person.
