CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the recipients for its weekly awards in Men's Indoor Track and field. Cortland's Brent DiVittorio (Brewster, N.Y.) is the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, while Brockport's Egypt Page (Binghamton, N.Y.) has been recognized as the Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
DiVittorio won the 60-meter hurdles at the Brockport Season Opener with a time of 8.14 seconds that currently ranks second nationally in Division III and is tied for the second-best time in the event in school history. Also, the performance would have tied for 10th nationally last season.
Page broke a 36-year old school record at the Brockport Season Opener meet in the long jump event with a distance of 7.30 meters. The previous indoor record of 7.23 meters was set back in 1983. His leap is currently ranked second on the indoor national qualifying list and won him first at the meet. Page also won the 60-meter dash with a personal best time of 7.05 in the event, which is also a top 20 mark on the indoor qualifying list.
