Corrigan and Acevedo Earn PrestoSports Field Hockey Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Cortland's Hanna Corrigan as its PrestoSports Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week and Brockport's Emma Acevedo was named the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Corrigan helped lead Cortland to a pair of non-conference games last week with seven points on three goals and one assist as the Red Dragons improved to 6-0, their best start to a season since 2010. In a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Ithaca on Wednesday, Corrigan tallied both Cortland goals, including the game winner with 2:52 remaining in regulation. She then assisted on the Red Dragons' first goal and scored the team's second goal in a 5-3 home win versus William Smith on Saturday. For the season, Corrigan has totaled 12 points on five goals and two assists.

The defender turned goalkeeper managed to pick up her first career shutout in only her third game ever in goal over the course of her playing career. Acevedo was able to record five saves against Utica on Wednesday night while recording one save against Russel Sage. The one save was all Acevedo needed to grab her first career win in goal while also recording a shutout in the 10-0 victory.
