2022 SUNYAC Men's Swimming & Diving Annual Honors Released

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the 2022 Men's Swimming and Diving Swimmer, Diver and Rookie of the Year awards as nominated and voted on by conference coaches.  

Swimmer of the Year - Ben Ludlow, Geneseo
Ludlow won the 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly (meet record) at the SUNYAC championship meet. He was also part of the winning 400 medley relay team that broke the conference and meet records and he finished second in the 200 individual medley. Ludlow qualified for NCAA's in the 200 butterfly and finished 12th earning Honorable Mention All-American status. Ludlow was named SUNYAC Swimmer of the Week this season as well.  

Diver of the Year - Trent Makowiec, Geneseo
Makowiec was named the Diver of the Meet after he won the 3-meter board and was second on the 1-meter board at the SUNYAC championship meet. At the NCAA regional meet Trent won the 1-meter competition and finished third on the 3-meter qualifying for the NCAA Championships. At the NCAA's, Makowiec finished second on the 1-meter and ninth on the 3-meter earning All-American and Honorable Mention All-American respectively. He also earned SUNYAC Diver of the Week three times during the season. 

Men's Rookie of the Year - Mark Crocker, Geneseo
Crocker was the 2022 SUNYAC champion in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. He was also a part of three winning relays including a conference and meet record in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:20.97. Crocker finished second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:48.52 which qualified him for the NCAA Championships. This season, he was named the SUNYAC Swimmer of the Week December 6 after he broke several records including the conference record in the 100 butterfly with a time of :48.73.
