SUNYAC Announces 2022 Top Women's Swimming & Diving Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the 2022 Women's Swimming and Diving Swimmer, Diver and Rookie of the Year awards as nominated and voted on by the conference coaches. 

Swimmer of the Year - Kim MacDonald, Geneseo
MacDonald was voted SUNYAC Swimmer of the Meet after she won the 200 freestyle, (1:54.51) 500 freestyle (5:03.16) and 1650 freestyle (17:16.16) at the 2022 championship. She was also a part of the winning 800 yard freestyle relay (7:41.36). MacDonald qualified for the NCAA championships in the 1650 freestyle and finished 16th earning honorable mention All-American status.

Diver of the Year - Taylor Williams, SUNY Cortland
Williams was the SUNYAC champion on both boards at the 2022 championship meet. At the NCAA's she placed sixth on 3-meter and 16th on 1-meter, earning All-America and Honorable Mention All-America status, respectively. She earned SUNYAC Diver of the Week six times during the season. 

Rookie of the Year - Elizabeth Sagan, Brockport
Sagan was the individual event champion in the 50 (23.97) and 100 yard freestyle (52.44) events at the SUNYAC championship. She was also a finalist in the 200 freestyle finishing seventh (2:00). Sagan helped lead her team to second place finishes in the 200 (1:38.60) and 400 (3:35.19) freestyle relays and a third place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay (7:56.23). Sagan had the fastest 50 freestyle split of anyone in the meet anchoring the 200 medley relay (23.31) that finished fourth.
