GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior catcher Katherine Hayes posted a pair of hits but it wasn't enough for the Knights as they fell, 4-0, to Stevens. The Knights' season came to an end with the loss, leaving the team with a 34-6 mark, the second-best winning percentage in program history and the third-most wins in program history.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stevens scored single runs in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings to build up a 4-0 lead.
- In the top of the third, the first two Geneseo batters reached base, but Stevens got out of the jam with a double play off the pitcher's glove to end the threat.
- In the fifth, the Knights loaded the bases with one out but couldn't drive in any runs as the Ducks averted the crisis again.
- Geneseo added baserunners in the sixth and the seventh innings, but still could not manufacture a run, falling 4-0 to Stevens.
QUICK FACTS
- Hayes and junior outfielder Samantha Martz each finished with two hits to lead the Knights, who finished with nine hits as a team, but nine runners left on base.
