Oneonta wins first-ever SUNYAC Women's Tennis Championship

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Oneonta defeated defending champions New Paltz, 5-4, to capture its first-ever State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's tennis championship title, Saturday at the Binghamton Tennis Center. With the win the Red Dragons earned an automatic berth into the NCAA DIII Women's Tennis Tournament.

New Paltz took the early lead after doubles, 2-1, but Oneonta held on to win four singles matches. Madeline Carswell was named the MVP after she won her second singles match (3-6, 7-5, 6-2) which was the final decision that clinched the win for Oneonta.
