Geneseo Ranked No. 1 in SUNYAC women's soccer preseason poll
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's soccer coaches voted Geneseo to finish at the top of the conference in 2021. After the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19, conference competition will resume September 24 with non-conference games kicking off the season on September 1.
The Knights won back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018 under current head coach Nate Wiley who was recently voted the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Coach of the Decade. Geneseo will look to win its ninth overall women's soccer conference crown this season. Cortland won the last SUNYAC women's soccer championship in 2019, which was the program's ninth overall. Oneonta has the most women's soccer conference titles with 13 total, taking home its last trophy in 2015.
