SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) awards Geneseo's Ezra Ruggles and Brockport's Art Jordan as PrestoSports Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Ruggles earned a first-place finish in the 1,500 with a 3:52.24 time at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational on Saturday. His time currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division III in the event. He also added a 4x400 relay victory, teaming with Alec Andrews, Peter Moller and Riley Grossman to finish in 3:30.24.
Jordan posted three top five finishes at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. He placed first in the shot put with a throw of 15.50m which currently ranks 10th on the outdoor national qualifying list. He finished third in the discus with a throw of 44.76 meters and he added a fifth place finish in the hammer throw on Sunday with a personal-best toss of 50.06 meters. He ranks 35th nationally in the hammer following the first 50+ meter throw of his career in the event.
