Farry and Haegele Honored as PrestoSports Volleyball Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honors Georgia Farry from Oswego and Carly Haegele from Cortland as its final 2021 PrestoSports Women's Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Farry reached double digits in kills in all four matches for the Lakers this past weekend as Oswego went 3-1 at the Skidmore Tournament. The Hamburg native notched 45 kills on 3.21 kills per set and hit .365 during the weekend. She added 14 blocks on 1.00 blocks per set to finish the tournament with 53.5 points scored during the weekend. Farry finished the season leading the Lakers in points (224.5), kills (186) and blocks (57).

In a 4-0 week for the Red Dragons, Haegele registered 81 digs (4.3/set) and five aces. She posted 17 digs in a 3-2 win over Ithaca, in the process surpassing the career 1,000-dig mark in just her second season. She had 28 digs in a five-set win at Clarkson Friday, followed by 20 digs in a four-set victory over Keuka and 16 digs in a five-set win versus St. Lawrence as Cortland went 3-0 at the North Country Challenge.
