SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honors Cortland's Caden Yancey and Travis Wagner as PrestoSports Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.
In his lone game played last week, Yancey scored a career-high six points on a career-best five goals and an assist as Cortland (11-6, 7-0 SUNYAC) defeated Geneseo, 12-7, on Saturday to earn the top seed in the conference tournament. For the season, Yancey has 12 points on 10 goals and two assists.
Wagner posted a 2-0 record with a 9.50 GAA, 27 saves, a 58.7 save percentage and three ground balls last week as Cortland (11-6, 7-0) clinched the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Wagner stopped 10 shots in a 16-12 win at Oswego on Wednesday, then matched his career high with 17 saves in a 12-7 home victory versus Geneseo on Saturday. For the season, Wagner has posted a 10-4 record with a 9.57 GAA, 175 saves and a .576 save percentage.
