SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selected Cortland's Abby Madigan as the PrestoSports Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week as Oneonta's Team of Olivia Fraser and Rebecca Macdonald were honored as the Doubles Team of the Week.
In her lone match of the week, Madigan won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles during Cortland's 6-3 non-league victory at Alfred University. She was also part of the second doubles team that posted an 8-3 win. Madigan is 4-1 in singles action this fall, all at number one, and has only lost a combined eight games during her four victories.
The duo, Fraser and Macdonald, helped to lead the Red Dragons to three wins last week including a 7-2 victory versus Plattsburgh to open the SUNYAC schedule. Playing at second doubles, the two picked up an 8-0 win against Scranton while picking up an 8-1 win at first doubles this past Saturday against Plattsburgh.
