Ludlow Named 2022 Men's Swimming & Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is honored to announce Geneseo's Ben Ludlow as the 2022 Men's Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year. This award is nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors. During each season, the conference honors student-athletes for their efforts in their sport, as well as their academics. Out of hundreds of winter athletes, one athlete from each sport was selected for this distinction.

Sophomore Ludlow is an accounting major maintaining a 3.57 GPA. He won the 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly (meet record) at the SUNYAC championship meet. Ludlow was also part of the winning 400 medley relay team that broke the conference and meet records and he finished second in the 200 individual medley. He qualified for NCAA's in the 200 butterfly and finished 12th earning Honorable Mention All-American status. Ludlow was named SUNYAC Swimmer of the Week this season as well.  

In order to be eligible for the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award student-athletes must prove both academic and athletic excellence by obtaining a minimum 3.30 overall GPA, be a starter or significant reserve for their team, and be at least a sophomore. The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete Award began in 2016-17.
