SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Geneseo and Oneonta will move on to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's basketball semifinals after winning first round games on Tuesday, February 22.
No. 3 Geneseo topped No. 6 Fredonia, 44-40, while No. 5 Oneonta upset No. 4 Buffalo State, 59-52. The Knights will face second-seeded New Paltz, while the Red Dragons will take on top-seeded Cortland Friday at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively at Cortland. New Paltz won its second straight and fifth overall SUNYAC women's basketball title in 2020. There was no 2021 season due to COVID-19. Buffalo State leads the league with nine overall conference crowns.
