SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces Kayla Wolinski of Buffalo State and Lindsay Roman of New Paltz its PrestoSports Softball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week.
Wolinski led the Bengals with a .565 batting average (13-of-23) over six games, tallying seven doubles, six RBI and five runs scored. In an extra-innings victory over RIT, the senior went 5-for-6 with three doubles and four RBI, including the game-winner in the 10th inning. She increased her hit streak to nine games in the process.
Roman pitched back-to-back complete games against Oswego and Cortland this past weekend. She gave up just four hits and no earned runs in a 4-3 victory over the Lakers, while totaling eight strikeouts. She then posted a complete game shutout, her third of the season, in a dominant outing against the Red Dragons where she yielded just six hits with six more strikeouts.
