SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Kieran Sheridan of Geneseo and Art Jordan of Brockport as the PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Sheridan led the Knights to an outstanding performance at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston. On Friday, Sheridan ran a leg of the Knights' Distance Medley Relay, setting a Geneseo program record with a finishing time of 9:49.15, the seventh-fastest finish in NCAA Division III history. On Saturday, Sheridan set two more Geneseo program records, finishing with a time of 48.12 in the 400 and then running the anchor leg of the Knights' record setting 4x400 relay (3:18.03).
Jordan set a new personal record in the men's shot put at this weekends RIT Meet, when the senior thrower won the men's shot put with a huge personal best distance of 16.61 meters. His distance ranks fourth all-time in Brockport's indoor record book and is currently the fifth best throw in the nation this season.
