SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selected Cortland's Hannah Southcott as the PrestoSports Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week and Brockport's Meaghan Mastro as the Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Southcott recorded 53 kills (4.1 per set), a .252 attack percentage and 37 digs (2.9 per set) in a 2-1 weekend for the Red Dragons in New Jersey. She had 19 kills and 18 digs in a five-set win at Montclair State on Friday night. The next day, she amassed a career-high 22 kills with only three errors in 53 attempts (.358) and added 17 digs in a four-set win at Kean, followed by 12 kills in a four-set loss to NYU on a neutral court.
Meaghan Mastro held down the middle of the net from her blocker position all week, as Brockport extended its win streak to seven while improving to 8-1 overall. With 11 solo blocks and 11 block assists, the senior total 22 blocks for the week. She averaged 1.22 blocks per set and recorded at least two solo blocks in four of the team's five wins. She also contributed defensively with 16 digs, including nine in a five set victory over Ithaca.
