Blondo Earns PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected New Paltz's Rylan Blondo as its PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Blondo has become the most consistent player for the Hawks this season and helped them to a win against tournament host Western Connecticut State Wednesday. He was the second-leading scorer on the team, finishing with 16 points on an efficient 7-for-14 shooting from the field, including hitting 2-for-3 from 3-point range and posted a team-leading and career-high seven assists in the win. In the championship game of the Hat City Tournament against William Paterson Thursday, Blondo again shot 50 percent from the field (8-16) and posted his second double-double on the season after leading the team in points (18) and rebounds (10) - five of which came on the offensive glass. He also led the team in assists with three to go along with one steal in the game.
