2021 SUNYAC Men's Cross Country Top Honors Announced

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its 2021 men's cross country annual awards as voted on by the conference coaches. Cortland's Ryan Cory and Geneseo's Nick Andrews were named Co-Runner of the Year while Geneseo's Charlie Wilson was honored as the Rookie of the Year. Geneseo was voted Coaching Staff of the Year.

Co-Runner of the Year - Ryan Cory, Cortland

Cory earned entrance into the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame with his first team all-conference honors with a fifth place finish. He was the 2021 Niagara Regional champion, earning all-region honors. Ryan earned All-American status with his 40th place finish at the NCAA championship.

Co-Runner of the Year - Nick Andrews, Geneseo

Andrews finished in third place at the SUNYAC championship with a time of 26:57.9. He finished in fourth place at the Niagara Region championship and he went on to earn All-America honors finishing in 39th place at the NCAA championship meet.

Rookie of the Year - Charlie Wilson, Geneseo

In his rookie season with the Knights, Wilson finished in 10th place at the SUNYAC championship with a time of 27:26.5. He finished in 12th place at the Niagara Region championship and was 131st at the NCAA championship.

Coaching Staff of the Year - Geneseo

Geneseo's head coach, Dan Moore is assisted by Chris Popovici and Ashton Fischer. The staff led their team to the program's seventh-straight and 19th overall SUNYAC men's cross country championship crown. The Knights had 10 athletes finish in the top 15 at the meet including the first three finishers and two athletes were inducted into the SUNYAC Championship Hall of Fame. This season the team earned an eighth-place finish at the NCAA championship meet and had one All-American (39th).
