Shepardson and Myrics awarded with PrestoSports Women's Track and Field Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) awards Gwen Shepardson of Geneseo and Journey Myricks of Plattsburgh as PrestoSports Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Shepardson and the Knights competed in the Bucknell Bison Classic against primarily NCAA Division I competition. Shepardson topped the field in the 400 hurdles, defeating athletes from Penn State, Bucknell, and several other Division I and II institutions to win the event. Her finishing time of 1:01.22 ranks third in all NCAA Division III competition this season.

Myricks posted a pair of top-five finishes at the Southern New Hampshire Penman Relays hosted by Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday. She placed second in the discus throw with an AARTFC- and SUNYAC-qualifying throw of 36.75 meters (120' 7") in addition to taking fifth in the shot put with a SUNYAC-qualifying mark of 10.95 meters - 35' 11.25".
