Andrews and Nyhart awarded PrestoSports Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) award Geneseo's Nicky Andrews and Cortland's Zach Nyhart as PrestoSports Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Andrews competed at the Penn Relays over the weekend, showcasing his talent against NCAA Division I programs. In the College Division 3,000 Steeplechase, Andrews ran to a 9:10.101 finish, the 13th-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season and second among Division III competitors in the race. He and his Geneseo teammates set a program record in the 4x800 relay, finishing in ninth place (just behind Univ. of Maryland and ahead of institutions like South Carolina and Clemson) with a time of 7:35.67.

Nyhart finished first out of 20 competitors in the pole vault at the Shippensburg Paul Kaiser Invitational on Saturday with a height of 4.65 meters (15' 3"), an AARTFC qualifying height. Earlier in the week he cleared that same height and finished fifth overall, and second among Division III competitors, at the Cortland CNY College Challenge.
