LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Peter Morgan, senior defenseman Chris Perna and senior forward Dan Bosio were each named American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-Americans, announced on Thursday afternoon.
Morgan was named AHCA Second Team All-American as he enters the weekend with a team-best 42 points on 17 goals and 25 assists, the second-most points by a first-year in NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey this season. He has registered at least one point in 22 of the Knights' 27 games this season, including a career-high five points on three goals and two assists in Geneseo's 8-1 victory over Lebanon Valley on Jan. 14. Morgan's first-year campaign is the most proflic scoring season by a Geneseo freshman since Anthony Marra '19 tallied 36 points in 2015-16.
Perna earned Third Team All-America honors after also earning First-Team All-SUNYAC accolades earlier this season. One of the Knights' top defenseman, Perna has registered four goals and 20 assists entering Friday night's contest. Over the Knights' last five games, Perna has scored one goal and dished off eight assists as the squad has outscored opponents, 28-8.
Bosio joined Perna as a Third Team All-American after leading the Knights with 22 goals entering the national semifinal round on Friday night. Bosio shares the NCAA Division III lead in power play goals with teammate Justin Cmunt with each scoring nine times on the man-advantage. Bosio has also dished out seven assists on the year. He scored four times in the SUNYAC Tournament, providing the game-winning goal in both the semifinals and finals to earn SUNYAC Tournament MVP.
Morgan, Perna and Bosio become the 17th, 18th and 19th All-Americans in program history, while Morgan becomes the Knights' first All-American freshman.
