Hale, Egbert and Morgan Honored with PrestoSports Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its first 2021 PrestoSports Men's Ice Hockey Athletes of the Week. Plattsburgh's Mitchell Hale has been named the Player of the Week, Brockport's Nolan Egbert the Goaltender of the Week while Geneseo's Peter Morgan has been tabbed the Rookie of the Week.

Hale tallied two goals (one shorthanded goal), three assists, a SUNYAC-leading five points, eight shots, two blocked shots and a +6 rating last week. He also tied for the SUNYAC lead in both assists and plus-minus. Hale began the week with one goal and one assist in Plattsburgh State's game against Plymouth State on Friday, Oct. 29. Hale assisted on the Cardinals' first goal of the game that was scored by sophomore forward Pavel Kharin 37 seconds into the game before scoring the second goal of the game at 2:58 of the second period to give Plattsburgh State a 2-0 lead over Plymouth State. He also recorded a +2 rating against the Panthers. Hale concluded the week with a shorthanded goal and two assists for three points with a +4 rating in the Cardinals' 8-1 non-conference win over Castleton University on Saturday Oct. 30, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.

Transferring from UMASS Boston, Egbert made his debut for the Golden Eagle's Saturday evening on the road against Neumann University. In his Brockport Debut, Egbert managed to record a shutout in the teams 6-0 Shutout victory over the Knights. Playing a total of 59:50 in net, Egbert recorded 25 saves in his shutout win. Following it's 2-0 weekend with win's over King's College and Neumann University, The Golden Eagle's will now turn to look to its matchup with SUNYAC opponent Morrisville on Saturday, November 6th at 7 p.m.

Morgan helped lead the Knights to a 2-0 start with wins over Neumann and Nazareth. He finished the week with 3 points behind one assist at Neumann and one goal and one assist against Nazareth. Morgan finished the week +3.
